The MP2X is a slender 1/4" (6.30mm) plug connector engineered for high-density cable assembly applications. Built with a strong die-cast zinc alloy housing and a chuck-style cable clamp, it offers dependable mechanical retention alongside a polished chrome finish for smooth, comfortable handling. Compatible with 18AWG (1.0mm²) cable in the 4-7mm OD range, the MP2X is rated for over 1,000 mating cycles and suited for a wide range of low-voltage signal and audio connection applications.

Key Features

  • Slim Profile Design: Particularly slender 1/4" form factor enables the highest packaging density on multi-connector panels and assemblies.
  • Rugged Die-Cast Housing: Strong zinc die-cast shell construction with a novel design for durability and long service life.
  • Reliable Cable Retention: Chuck-jacket style cable clamp firmly secures the cable and prevents strain on internal connections.
  • Polished Finish: Chrome-plated exterior provides a smooth surface for maximum operational convenience and ease of handling.
  • Long Service Life: Rated for more than 1,000 mating cycles, ensuring consistent performance over repeated use.

Material and Environmental Specifications

  • Housing Material: Zinc die-cast construction for structural strength and durability.
  • Contact Material: Brass contacts with nickel plating for reliable conductivity.
  • Shell Electroplating: Chrome-plated exterior for corrosion resistance and a premium finish.
  • Operating Temperature Range: Rated from -20°C to +65°C, suitable for a broad range of environments.
  • Certified Standards: Compliant with IEC 68-2-20 solderability standards and IEC 60603-11 / EIA RS-453 certification.

Assembly Instructions

  • Cable Preparation: Thread the cable through the bushing, then strip the cable end to the specified dimensions before assembly.
  • Soldering: Solder the conductor portion of the cable to the core assembly, keeping the shielding layer and signal wire properly separated.
  • Core Installation: Push the inner core assembly into the housing, aligning the convex bar on the core with the corresponding bar on the housing.
  • Final Tightening: Tighten the tail sleeve clockwise to complete assembly and secure all components.
  • Cable Diameter Adjustment: For cables sized 4-5.5mm, the clamp tail remains intact; for cables sized 5.5-7mm, a portion of the clamp tail must be broken off prior to assembly.
